What I Do

As the changing environment of horse emerges, we are constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of our horses life. No longer an animal used solely for transport, work or war, to be replaced by another when broken, we are carers of the equine for pleasure.

My aim is to educate owners how to care for their horse, in the most economical way possible and to extend the quality of life through correct hoof care, bodywork (see list of services),correct riding and handling techniques, paddock management, and a link to other professionals for advice on other matters. As we all progress and better information becomes available, it is my promise to you, the client, that I will endeavour to keep updating and improving, to maximise the pleasure with your horses.

Natural Horsemanship Training

I have had extensive training in horsemanship.  A gentle approach equals a gentle horse.

Sometimes horses that have been abused or just plain ‘spoilt’, can be extremely dangerous to handle in the hands of a novice.  I will assess your horse & offer training for you to learn how to address any issues that arise.

One on one training may be best for your particular situation or a group may benefit.  Your horse may be a ‘bully’ around feed times, or not lead very well.

We were at our wits' end with farriers doing subpar work on our horses' hooves, so we made the decision to take off the shoes and trim them ourselves. That’s when we found Jocelyn Warren, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Jocelyn’s extensive knowledge, particularly in corrective trimming, has been a game-changer for us. She is an excellent communicator and was able to teach my daughter, Kristen, how to confidently and skillfully trim our horses' hooves on her own. Beyond just trimming, Jocelyn introduced us to foot and leg chiropractic techniques and bodywork, which have been incredibly valuable. Her deep understanding of each horse's unique psychology sets her apart, especially when working with horses that have been mistreated by farriers in the past. Jocelyn’s gentle approach has rehabilitated our horses, helping them become calm and trusting during hoof care. Thanks to Jocelyn, Kristen and I have gained lifelong skills, and we are incredibly thankful for the time and expertise she has shared with us. Highly recommend!

Jocelyn Warren as usual, when ever I let you lay a hand on my horses, nothing but magic happens. My horses have gone from tight batooties to a couple of happy go lucky slinkies. Anyone who has this lady work on their horse feet or body will not regret it and will be doing their horses a great service. I have used this lady’s service for nearly 10 years. At one point she was my farrier(till I became one), then a coach/ mentor plus body worker and behavioural specialist for a very strong willed trekhaner x Thoroughbred mare.

2 yo FILLY I am totally impressed by Jocelyn's horse training techniques and patient, gentle approach, she managed to get my 2yo filly in the float in only 20 mins, amazing!! On the second visit she was not only in the float but next to her dam and driven around the paddock without any worry. Jocelyn also did a great job with trimming my 3 horse's feet. I looked for a long time to find the right person to train my filly and can honestly thoroughly recommend her.

BILLY I had met Jocelyn at the school where our kids attended, but it was not until our regular farriers and chiropractors became unreliable and also providing unsatisfactory services, that I called upon her to attend my horses. Our old man Billyboy in particular was big and strong and healthy until we locked him up due to the floods. He was a 14.3 stock horse who had worked most of his life. He didn't do well being stabled and became stiff and sore. About 3 mths passed before I dug out Jocelyn's card and called.

NATALIA My 9 year old Arabian mare, Natalia, has been suffering from stiffness in both her shoulder and hind for many months. Not lame, but definitely struggling to use the range of motion on that side. Jocelyn Warren, our barefoot trimmer, is also a practitioner of Emmett Therapy and during a recent visit we discussed how to improve Natalia's stride and movement. Having used Emmet Therapy before with great success, I asked Joc to do some bodywork …..

CHILLI Jocelyn has been my farrier for awhile now. My standardbred mare has severe arthritis and a bone spur in her front off fetlock. Because of this, there has to be a perfect balance of work and rest. 1 week before my dressage competition, I was stressing because our canter was terrible (even though she is a Standardbred, she DOES canter) but we just couldn't get it balanced and right. Jocelyn came out to trim my mares feet and noticed Chilli was a little off on her inside shoulder.
